Hand harvested in April, the grapes are cold macerated prior to separate varietal fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Natural malolactic fermentation follows. The separate wines are aged for 8 months in French oak barrels. After assemblage, the wine is aged for 6 months in stainless steel and then further aged in bottle for 5 months prior to release.
Deep red with violet hues. Aromas of cherries, raspberries and plum marmalade intertwine with hints of sweet spice, dark chocolate and vanilla from the oak aging. Lush red berry flavor gives way to velvety tannins and a pleasant, persistent finish.
Enjoy with rich dishes and roasted meats including lamb, beef and pork. Also marries well with spicy empanadas, rosemary seasoning, and fruit-based sauces and sides.
Juicy and full of zesty red fruit and spice flavors that are fringed by floral notes. Paprika accents show on the finish. Malbec, Bonarda and Syrah. Drink now. - KM
