My Favorite Neighbor Chardonnay 2021
The 2021 MFN Blanc Chardonnay bursts from the glass with aromas of Meyer lemon, yellow apple, Asian pear and just a hint of pineapple. Underneath the fruit lies complex base notes of flint, vanilla, nutmeg, and cardamom. Surrounding all these aromas is an open sensation of freshness, like a wave crashing upon the shore. That saline component is mirrored on the palate, complemented by juicy, mouthwatering acidity and a long mineral finish.
Rounding out the palate are flavors of crème fraiche and toffee offering balance and the desire for just one more sip. This wine is a perfect white to be enjoyed year-round.
Nose: Floral notes add complexity to a wine, rife with vanilla, toast and a creamy richness. Delightfully balanced.
Palate: Full-bodied: Expect a rich and round mouthfeel. Great acidity, balanced oak, which helps balance the richness and keeps the wine fresh.
Finish: Long and lingering: The fruit flavors and oak notes should linger on the palate after you swallow. Vanilla, toasty oak notes round out this impeccable wine.

The 2021 MFN Blanc Chardonnay is very ripe in style with scents of banana chip, apple pie, jasmine, allspice and brown sugar. The full-bodied palate is packed with ripe, spicy fruits and plenty of refreshing acidity, and it finishes long with a satiny, mouth-coating texture. It's an old-school style reminiscent of Napa that fans of ripe, oaked Chardonnays will enjoy.
Pairing
Roasted chicken with creamy sauces or herb rubs complements the Chardonnay nicely.
Creamy Brie or buttery Camembert. But a hard cheese with a bit of sharpness, like Gruyere or aged Gouda, could also work well.
Adventurous Pairings:
Consider pork tenderloin with a touch of sweetness or pork belly with savory glazes. Creamy pasta dishes or those with rich sauces like pesto can also be a good option.
