Notes
Bright, cherry, forest floor, leather, smoke and black berries, chocolate and cedar.
95-Points James Suckling
Blackberry and blueberry aromas with hints of cedar and sandalwood. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, very fine tannins and a bright, fresh finish. A little tight and reserved, but pretty and precise.
93-Points Wine Enthusiast
Wild berry, crushed herb, new leather and truffle aromas emerge from the glass. The juicy, savory palate offers red cherry, crushed raspberry, licorice and a hint of grilled porcini framed in taut, polished tannins. Tangy acidity keeps it bright. It’s already almost accessible but will age well for several years or more. Drink 2023–2028.
Pairing
BBQ meat, game, roasted meats, goat cheese. A ribeye or porterhouse.
History
The Villa S. Restituta farm is one of the oldest in the comunity of Montalcino. For many centuries it's a property of the Castelli Martinozzi family as testify the chapel joined to the landlord's villa where the ancestors of different generations found their burial, the stem on the main gate and the ancient clock turret whose strikes echoed for centuries in the surrounding vally.
