Vincent Girardin continues the winemaking tradition of his father and grandfather before him, with a significant difference. The energetic and innovative Girardin has greatly expanded the number of appellations in his domaine, including these grand cru wines from the most famous appellations in the Cote d'Or.--Winemakers Note Deep red-ruby. Blackberry, licorice, leather, flowers, minerals and smoky oak on the pure, complex nose. A bit less expressive in the mouth, but with enticing sweetness to its dense dark fruit, mineral and licorice flavors. Finishes layered and quite long, with a juicy quality and impressive chewy depth. --Stephen Tanzer There was no reduction here, revealing only grudging notes of earth and iron-infused red berry fruit that complements well the rich, full, sweet and generous flavors that are delicious, complex and concentrated.--Allen Meadows of Burghound 90-93 Points!!!
