A single vineyard designate wine, our Landslide Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits toasty aromas of cherry, cranberry and plum. At once powerful and elegant, it has ripe black cherry fruit flavors integrated with big, ripe tannins that culminates in a supple, long finish that hints of blackberry and spice.
The 2006 vintage marks the seventh release of this vineyard-designate Cabernet Sauvignon from Simi's Landslide Vineyard in Sonoma's renowned Alexander Valley. First planted in 1985, Simi's 170-acre vineyard was divided by forces of nature into three distinct sections and elevations, and its wines reflect this dramatic geologial history.
Along with the complexity created by such diverse geography and topography, Simi has also planted an assortment of grape varieties and clones. Nine clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, together with plantings of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, provide winemaker Steve Reeder with all the tools necessary for creating a spectacular blend of the big five Bordeaux varietals.--Winemakers Note
