I'm a simple guy. If I like something then I say I like it. If I don't like something then I say I don't like it. The liquor/wine/beer industry doesn't follow this mantra. Everything has to be made more complicated than it needs to be. Case in point:
Defiant Brewing Co. Bear Mountain Ale.
I really like the beers from Defiant. I wouldn't say they are huge sellers, but the people that drink them love'em! I recently took in the Bear Mountain Ale. I wouldn't say my palate is so sophisticated that I can determine the hops a brewer uses, but I can definitely pick out the Cascade Hops in this beer, which I really like. I liked this beer so much that I wanted to feature it.
I went to
Ratebeer.com to find out a little information on the style of this beer, but there was no review on it. So, I called the brewery rep and asked him what style it was. He went on this long explanation about how a beer like this has never been made and he couldn't give me a definite style. Actually, he called it an "Eastern IPA", which I think he made up. Give me a break! It's a Belgian IPA! Regardless, it's a great beer and I'm putting it on sale for
$6.99/bottle. It’s definitely worth adding a few bottles to your order.
