Poggiotondo was started in 1969 by Carlo Antonini, father of world renowned winemaker Alberto Antonini, shortly after he acquired the property, then known as Cerro del Masso. Over the years, Carlo renovated the vineyards and winery, transforming the property from traditional farm into a modern and functional Tuscan wine estate.--Winemakers Note
