Glenfiddich resurrects the lost tradition of maturing in rum casks with this Glenfiddich Gran Reserva 21 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky. Rum distillers from Sancti Spiritus, near the Sierra del Escambray in the heart of Cuba, worked with Glenfiddich to develop this unique Cuban rum finish. They decant casks of Cuban rum at their distillery in Scotland and fill them with 21 Year Old Glenfiddich to absorb the unique character lingering in the wood. Then they wait for the Malt Master to give his blessing for bottling - at the precise moment when the unmistakable Glenfiddich flavor reveals a new and vibrant overtone.
An intense and sweet aroma, quite floral with hints of banana, toffee, leather and oak. The flavor is initially soft, then brisk, vibrant and drying. A touch of smoke, peppery, lime and spices, complimented by an exceptionally long, warming finish.
